Background fertilization correction protocol with soil samples
Objective
Adjust the base fertilizer dose based on soil analysis.
Minimum fertilization requirements
Required parameters (send to postpro@hemav.com
Annual rate of N, P, K expressed in kg/ha.
TOTAL amount of N, P and K (and not P2O5 and K2O) that will be applied throughout the entire season.
Fund subscriber percentage.
It is the percentage of the annual dose that will be provided in the basal fertilization.
Minimum CAPACITY Requirements
These are the parameters that a soil analysis must contain to make the recommendation
Soil analysis should be done as close as possible to the planned fertilization date, and carried out before any fertilizer application to the soil
If fertilizer has been applied, it is recommended not to analyze the soil until after:
2 months of mineral fertilizer application
4 months of organic matter application
Required parameters
Clay percentage
N. Assimilable (nitrogen in nitrate form NO3)
Match
Potass
**IMPORTANT
The analyses must be performed using the methods and units from table 3. Otherwise, the recommendation cannot be made.
Equivalences* mg/dm3 = p
Table 3. Analysis methods and units needed to make a basal fertilization recommendation.
Optional Parameters
If not provided, the reference values indicated below will be used, and the recommendation may be less accurate.
Bulk density: 1300 kg/m3 or 1.3 g/
Sample depth: 20 cm
Only if the client applies decomposed organic matter annually, fill in:
C/N Ratio: 8.
Organic matter: Expressed in %. If the analysis does not contain the OM level, it remains blank, as there is no common reference value
Notes on capacity: Write “annual OM”, in case decomposed organic matter is added annually
